Data Visualizations
Making information understandable through visualization.
2011 Projects
Problem:
Competition to propose projects for 2011 so my collaborative team wanted to visually display our proposal for 2011 projects and create a standout presentation.
Process:
Collaborated for ideation of projects and mapping to key initiatives and objectives. I then distilled that information into two supporting visuals.
Solution:
Created visualization of how project plan mapped to top enterprise initiatives, delivery channel, users, market segments, and distribution. Produced guidebook as supplemental information to engage audience and spark interest in our proposed projects.
Bill Holman at Progressive
Problem:
Peer wanted poster reflecting life at Progressive.
Process:
Gathered information, sketched out some concepts and mapped data.
Solution:
With minimal information provided, I depicted groups, people, activities, and projects that peer had involvement in.
Weekly Summary of Driving Data for SnapShot
Problem:
The SnapShot product needed a way to better explain to participating drivers weekly data as the existing design was generating increased phone calls to customer service.
Solution:
Thinking how the design could scale to mobile, I stripped the entire design down to the essentials and layered data onto visuals so the visual alone explained how the driver was doing compared to others nation-wide. I also created visual facets for the user to change the data to see how they compared to drivers in other ages, genders, amounts of accident/violations, and locations.
Design concept in testing with market research.
Clarifying UX Roles in Organization
Problem:
UX team felt role was more IT than business.
Solution:
Illustrated how the UX role works at Progressive and provided example of how UX collaborates across the enterprise to deliver experiences.
